When you talk with photographer Aaron Gang, it’s easy to see that his work is more than a profession—it’s a passion for bringing out the best in people. In fact, a quick visit to his website showcases the way he thoughtfully puts people at ease, with phrases such as, “You have incredible gifts to offer. You have blessings to be grateful for. You have powers to reveal. See yourself in the best light.” Building true connections, and helping his clients see themselves at their best, became the foundation of his career.
Aaron Gang is the owner of Aaron Gang Photography, based in Chicago, IL. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Theatre and English from Truman State and a master’s degree in English from the University of Illinois-Chicago. After graduate school, Aaron found his acting colleagues continually expressing the need for a solid, easy-to-work-with photographer who could capture their unique personalities. Knowing his love of photography and adventure—and his genuine connection with people—Aaron started his professional photography studio in 1998. What began as headshots of actors has since expanded to include family photos, corporate and professional headshots, and pet photos.

Aaron notes his most satisfying moments come from seeing families rekindle their love for one another. He is humbled by the pride families have when his work captures that love, knowing they now have a tangible memory that truly represents them.
When asked if he could impart wisdom to a budding entrepreneur, he quickly and enthusiastically responded: “Seek mentorship!”
Aaron’s financing journey began with his bank. When they were unable to provide the financing needed all on their own, they introduced him to Joel Herscher from Growth Corp. Aaron felt like he could call Joel with any questions or needs, and Joel would shoot straight with him—always advocating on his behalf.
